Open Water Swim
The club aims to hold regular ‘Open Water Swims’ during Spring/Summer at either the Regatta Centre or Cables Wake Park.
Open Water Swim Sessions have now ended for the 2019/2020 season.
Dates for 2020/2021 season will be advised once available. We hope to recommence sessions from Oct 2020.
Sessions will be held in the main competition lake at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
Date for the 2020/2021 season will be added once available.
All abilities are welcome. Swim as far as you are comfortable with.
Juniors 14 and above are welcome, however must be accompanied by an adult.
A season swim pass costs $25 for PTC members and $35 for non-members, and covers ALL swims over the season.
Once you have purchased your pass, you can attend as many sessions as you like.
To participate, you will need to register and pay for your season pass online.
An online registration link will be provided once we have new dates.
Facebook Events will be created for each of the available dates. If you intend on participating in one (or more) of these sessions please indicate your attendance on the Facebook Event page relevant to that date. This helps us arrange the required spotters for the session.
(These events are only made possible with the help of volunteers, so if no-one is making use of the sessions we will need to cancel them).
Once you have registered, please ensure you click on ‘Going’ on each event page, so we know how many people are attending.
Meet at the timing tower (near the edge of the grandstand). Please arrive at least 15min prior to the allocated time, so that we can have swimmers in the water by 6.30am on Fridays and by 5pm on Saturdays. Please do not enter the water until advised.
We need at least 2-3 people per week, to volunteer for “spotters” duty. If everyone volunteers to do it at least ONCE over the course of the swimming season we should have it covered. Just advise us via the comments area if you can assist.
Keep an eye on the PTC Facebook page for any updates regarding each session.
And remember – just keep swimming, just keep swimming…..
