Open Water Swim

Open Water Swim

The club aims to hold regular ‘Open Water Swims’ during Spring/Summer at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Open Water Swim Sessions are back for the 2021-2022 season.

Sessions will be held in the main competition lake at the Sydney International Regatta Centre.
We currently have the following dates secured so far:

https://www.pantherstriclub.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Open-Water-Swim-dates_2021-2022.pdf

To participate, you will need to register and pay for a swim pass online prior to attending. The online portal includes a participant waiver which must be read and accepted.  Passes cannot be purchased on the day. All abilities are welcome.  Swim as far as you are comfortable with.
Juniors 13 and above are welcome, however must be accompanied by an adult.

Season Pass
A season swim pass costs $25 for PTC members and $35 for non-members, and covers ALL swims over the season.
Once you have purchased your pass, you can attend as many sessions as you like.
A 2021-2022 season pass can be purchased here.

Facebook Events will be created for each of the available dates.  If you will be attending a session please ensure you click on ‘Going’ on each (relevant) event page, so we know how many people will be attending. This helps us arrange the required spotters for the session.
(These events are only made possible with the help of volunteers, so if no-one is making use of the sessions we will need to cancel them).

Meet at the timing tower (near the edge of the grandstand). Please arrive on time for the allocated session – we aim to have swimmers in the water by 6.45am on Fridays and 4.15pm on Saturdays. Please do not enter the water until advised.

We need at least 2-3 people per week, to volunteer for “spotters” duty. If everyone volunteers to do it at least ONCE over the course of the swimming season we should have it covered. Just advise us via the comments area if you can assist.

Keep an eye on the PTC Facebook page for any updates regarding each session.
